About

Mission

To protect, support, democratize, and improve the preservation of the genealogical information, heirlooms, and legacies of the extended Johnson family throughout the American South, Intermountain West, Southwest, and Midwest.

Vision

Our vision is to form a self-sustaining, non-profit organization that protects our shared heritage, unique family histories, and the wisdom and stories of our ancestors.

Values

Transparency — we are transparent about how genealogical material is used internally and externally when in our care.

Honesty — we record honest and verified facts when doing genealogical work. When the burden of proof for a given fact is weak, we also record this

Privacy — we respect individuals' right to privacy. We do not publish genealogical information without the consent of the individuals who provided this information. If an individual prefers their genealogy to be recorded completely privately, then we will do so with the utmost care.

Security — we value the security of information above all else. All genealogical information we store is done so on end-to-end encrypted storage unless published to genealogical websites such as Ancestry or FamilySearch.
